I discovered racing cycling on my dad's old racing bike. I always liked doing sports outside, but the racing bike really opened my eyes. I loved the freedom and the distances you could cover. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's. After heavy treatments I got back on the bike. This time I set more goals. Big tours of 160 km, climbs of the Stelvio, Gavia, Tourmalet, Aubisque etc. In recent years I have been mountain biking more and more. Riding through the forest gives an even greater sense of freedom. The last three years I have mainly traveled through England and Scotland by mountain bike. The nature, the routes and the freedom you experience there are fantastic. I think it would be great to let more people experience this.

If it has 2 wheels, my blood starts pumping faster: motorcycles, bicycles, from an antique high-bi to a Kona Paddy Wagon, all good. Cycling (and motorcycling) means freedom to me. Head in the wind and gaze at infinity. The mountain bike is my passion and has already taken me to many countries including Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, and since 2006 especially to the UK. The trail centers, but also individual routes are of high quality there, combine that with the nicest inhabitants of (now) Europe, their love of beer and inviting cuisine and you have my ideal travel destination.

In my life I have a few passions and mountain biking is the biggest. I have been on the mountain bike for 27 years and have been to some beautiful places with the United States as a highlight. I also love to go to the fantastic Austrian and French Alps, where I am often on my Santa Cruz, preferably on the most technical trails possible. That is what I love to do most, trail and enduro oriented riding. But I also enjoy riding my bike in our own beautiful country, Germany and Belgium. I hope that I can transfer that passion and knowledge of mountain biking to you in my lessons. See you soon!

After many years on the racing bike, I came into contact with mountain biking more than 20 years ago. What immediately appealed to me about mountain biking is the wooded surroundings and the combination of technique while riding. In the beginning we mainly rode in the Netherlands and had to look for beautiful locations to ride. Later we went to Belgium and Luxembourg where the trails were much more challenging. In the meantime I have met mountain bikers in many countries. You get to know a country best on the bike. You see much more of the surroundings and you meet the nicest athletes. I like to share my enthusiasm for mountain biking during the clinics and trips at MTBTravel.nl

What could be better than turning your hobby into your profession? After many years of mountain biking in the nearby forests of Dorst and Oosterhout, I seized this opportunity. And now I am taking on the challenge of teaching mountain bikers to ride better. I am looking forward to welcoming you and giving you extra skills. Burgundian Brabant, enjoying nature and training on MTB tracks such as Dorst, Cadettenkamp and Vrachelen!

In the mountains I feel at home! Hiking, mountain biking, climbing and (tour) skiing are great passions of mine and each one has brought me to beautiful destinations such as Austria, Spain, Germany and Jordan. The mountain bike is where it all started. Riding long distances and discovering new areas in this way was the ultimate freedom for me. The last 2 years I have mainly been developing myself as a mountain sports guide. I have already experienced some beautiful 'mountain moments' and it seems super cool to experience these with others!

In the autumn of 2019 I started with the mountain bike sport. Nice to struggle and suffer in the Schoorlse dunes and be distracted from a very difficult period in my life. I soon noticed that I told my environment about it with great enthusiasm, who also became very curious. With some friends and family I occasionally went for a ride and that is where the idea of becoming an MTB guide came from. In 2021 I successfully completed the Basic Mountain Bike Guide Netherlands Training from the NIMG. Together with my always cheerful, positive and sociable personality, I can now also guide you safely and purposefully over the Dutch routes
I get a huge kick out of helping people enjoy this sport even more, but also letting them experience the most beautiful places in our country on the MTB

Mountain biking is more than a hobby for me. I've been riding a fat tire bike for almost 20 years. In the beginning, it was mainly focused on going as hard and as far as possible. In the meantime, the preference has clearly shifted to technically challenging trails and the focus on skills. I enjoy doing a technical passage 7 times in a row to improve. In addition to mountain biking myself, I think it's cool to share my passion for mountain biking. That's why I completed the NIMG Guide NL training in 2021. It's great to inspire others and help them improve their mountain biking. I get excited when someone pushes their boundaries and expands their skills. That's doubly enjoyable.

Level check MTB Travel

The level of a trip depends on your mastery of Fundamental MTB skills (blue) and Technique (red).

Foundation

You will master the fundamentals of mountain biking if you know how to apply the following techniques with confidence: Basic, Attack and Flow stance, effective braking and at speed come turns as well as flat turns. Loose ground is no problem for you and you also ride over obstacles and ride rolling drops with confidence.

Technique (Flow and Obstacles)

With flow techniques, you know how to maintain and create speed. You master fast turns and drop techniques (push and jump). You make line choices while riding, use the Pedal-kick and ride Off-Camber. You ride technical climbs and descents with sharp turns with confidence, as well as jumps and root passages.

Still having trouble choosing or are you still in doubt? We are happy to guide you to get the most out of your next MTB trip. To this end, we have developed a clear, constructive clinic programme. Of course, this includes the fundamental techniques that are so important that you really need to master them.
