Suspension workshop

Get the most out of your MTB suspension with our Suspension Workshop!

Are you ready to take your mountain biking experience to the next level? During our Suspension workshop you will learn how to get the most out of your suspension so you can conquer the trails with more control, balance and fun. In just 2 hours, our certified mechanic and MTB guide immerses Thomas Hurkmans immerse yourself in the world of bracketing and tuning.

Bracketing is a process where you adjust one specific part of your suspension, then test it on the trail, and evaluate whether it rides better, the same or worse. Are you satisfied? Then you move on to the next setting. During the workshop, you will learn to apply bracketing to:

  • Low- & high-speed rebound
  • Compression
  • Springrate
  • Tyre pressure
  • Even the angle of your brake levers!

After a short introduction, we will build a mini-workshop together under a tent in the car park near the trail. Then you test your adjustments directly in practice, so you really feel how your bike changes.

  • Setting SAG: Make sure your bike is perfect on the trail.
  • Rebound adjustment: Avoid your bike rebounding too quickly or slowly.
  • Compression and high-/low-speed compression: Understand how to optimise spring settings for heavy impact or technical sections.
  • Practical maintenance tips: We tell you when your suspension needs maintenance and the best way to do it.

Level check MTB Travel

The level of a trip depends on your mastery of Fundamental MTB skills (blue) and Technique (red).

Foundation

You will master the fundamentals of mountain biking if you know how to apply the following techniques with confidence: Basic, Attack and Flow stance, effective braking and at speed come turns as well as flat turns. Loose ground is no problem for you and you also ride over obstacles and ride rolling drops with confidence.

Technique (Flow and Obstacles)

With flow techniques, you know how to maintain and create speed. You master fast turns and drop techniques (push and jump). You make line choices while riding, use the Pedal-kick and ride Off-Camber. You ride technical climbs and descents with sharp turns with confidence, as well as jumps and root passages.

Still having trouble choosing or are you still in doubt? We are happy to guide you to get the most out of your next MTB trip. To this end, we have developed a clear, constructive clinic programme. Of course, this includes the fundamental techniques that are so important that you really need to master them.
