The choice is yours Below you will find a example elaboration Based on a flight to Girona, transfers and 5 days of riding mix between scenic and technical trails. Day 1 – Arrival Upon arrival at Girona airport (or after a ride from the Netherlands) we will take you to the hotel in Girona in 20 minutes. You will quickly notice that Girona is a real cycling city with a beautiful old city center. We make sure that all MTBs are in order, and then we explore the old city center on the MTB under the guidance of the guide. We also ride a few trails to get in the mood for the real work tomorrow. Day 2 – Trails around Girona After a hearty breakfast we get on our bikes to discover the nature reserve Les Gavarres directly from Girona. Within 5 minutes we leave the city behind us and start the first climb on a single track. We build it up slowly so that you can get used to trail riding. During the tour we visit the 'Castell de Sant Miquel', where you can climb the castle tower for a beautiful view of the nature reserve. In clear weather you can even see the Pyrenees! Day 3 – Trail center Santa Coloma de Farners Named by GMBN (Global Mountain Bike Network) as one of the best trail centers. Here you will find 'natural shaped trails' with a few improvements for extra riding pleasure. Discover the Spiderman trail, a super flowy fast trail with a few drops. For technical trails Dragon Kahn or La Llosa are ideal. Day 4 – Backcountry Les Gavarres Today we go deeper into the nature reserve. After a longer cross country climb, one of the longest descents of over 3 km awaits us. This trail has it all: fast flowy parts, technical and narrow sections, and rock shoots. After the descent we climb to a beautiful viewpoint over the Gavarres and the surrounding mountain ranges. Here you can also see the area of the next day: Cap de Creus. After this stop we descend towards Girona. Day 5 – Beauty of the Mediterranean The icing on the cake! With turquoise water, beautiful beaches surrounded by rocks and high cliffs, Cap de Creus is a top location for mountain bikers. We start with a shuttle that takes us to the starting point, where our adventure begins. After a long descent, we end up on the beach to relax and enjoy the view. Then follows a climb of 400 vertical meters to a beautiful traversing trail with breathtaking views. The descent ends at the cliffs near Cadaqués, an old fishing village where we have lunch. After lunch, we continue climbing and descend to Roses with beautiful views.

Level check MTB Travel

The level of a trip depends on your mastery of Fundamental MTB skills (blue) and Technique (red).

Foundation

You will master the fundamentals of mountain biking if you know how to apply the following techniques with confidence: Basic, Attack and Flow stance, effective braking and at speed come turns as well as flat turns. Loose ground is no problem for you and you also ride over obstacles and ride rolling drops with confidence.

Technique (Flow and Obstacles)

With flow techniques, you know how to maintain and create speed. You master fast turns and drop techniques (push and jump). You make line choices while riding, use the Pedal-kick and ride Off-Camber. You ride technical climbs and descents with sharp turns with confidence, as well as jumps and root passages.

Still having trouble choosing or are you still in doubt? We are happy to guide you to get the most out of your next MTB trip. To this end, we have developed a clear, constructive clinic programme. Of course, this includes the fundamental techniques that are so important that you really need to master them.
